Bronco Round Up

Richard Rubalcaba

Richard Rubalcaba, Writer

Richard Rubalcaba is entering the second semester of his freshman year here a BUHS. An L.A. native who’s been here since middle school is a welcome addition to the Bronco Round Up staff. Richard has had a good experience so far in his limited time here at BUHS, but adjusting to high school life hasn’t been without its challenges. Richard says that its taken a little bit of adjusting to seeing a bunch of new faces, and trying to meet the demands of all the homework he has received. In addition to being one of the many students in the class of 2023, Richard is also a massive horror fan, a quality he gained from watching fright flicks with his mom from a young age. He says that “Friday the 13th” is his favorite horror franchise because of the way the filmmakers expertly build tension and suspense before the blood bath begins. Richard hopes to one day pursue a career in mental therapy to help people overcome their darkest hours and show people the light at the end of the tunnel. BUHS is definitely lucky to have people like Richard coming on to the campus, and if even half of the freshman are like him, the school will be in good hands.
