Are you looking forward to watching American athletes compete in this year’s Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea?

While watching athletes spin out of the half pipe on TV is entertaining, nothing beats getting to see athletes compete in real life.

Luckily, you don’t have to fly all the way to South Korea to get to watch America’s top snowboarders battle it out this weekend at the Olympic Qualifiers at Mammoth Mountain!

Mammoth Mountain is hosting the US Snowboard and Freeski Grand Prix this week, with events in slopestyle and halfpipe from Wednesday to Friday. While students can’t attend because of school on the weekdays, the competition will extend into Saturday.

Typically the Grand Prix is held during the day, but this year’s finale will be different – men’s and women’s halfpipe finals will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, with the Olympic Team naming to be held from 8:30 to 10:00 am.

DJ WLDCT will be providing music at Main Lodge and there will be a fire work show after the naming ceremony!

So if you’re wanting to do something fun this weekend, Mammoth Mountain’s Main Lodge is the place to be!
