Mammoth girls soccer scored a first-half goal and held off the Bronco attack in the 2nd half, winning 1-0 Thursday. Even with the loss, the Broncos hold the top spot in the High Desert League with a narrow 1-game lead over Rosamond.
Mammoth Captain Kayla Fierro scored the 1st half goal with a long arching shot that bounced over the Bronco Keeper. The Fierro goal was just the 2nd allowed by the Bronco team in HDL play. The Broncos had outscored their HDL opponents 77-1 heading into Thursday’s match.
The Broncos have three league matches remaining, a home match with Rosamond for senior night on Tuesday, then a road trip to Desert on Thursday, the 5th, before ending the regular season at California City on Tuesday, February 10th.
