Bronco Golf CIF Playoff Results

On May 6, the Bronco Golf Team traveled to Lemoore in order to participate in the Division 2 CIF playoffs. They had scored a low enough score the previous week in their qualifier to put them in Division 2. The cut line was 440 combined score to reach Division 2 and the team crushed that with a score of 403, easily cruising past that mark. At Lemoore, the team seemed to struggle on an unfamiliar course. The combined score was a 467. The team really seemed to struggle with the front nine. The single scores were:

Adam Kalk: 88

Kobe Carpenter: 88

CJ Carrington: 93

Cooper Beard: 97

Corde Peek: 101

Garin Pritchard: 104

The team was disappointed in their performance but very happy that they even got to experience playing at this level. The team looked defeated but also they knew how blessed they were to play here and began to take in the scenery and mingle with fellow group players. They didn’t seem to take the loss too heavily however and received compliments from other teams on their positive attitude even when struggling. Coach Derek Carrington was very happy with how the season went and is very proud of his players. He is sad to see his four seniors leave next year and wishes that the year could have ended with a championship ring but he had fun stepping in as coach for Brandon Helmbolt. Coach Carrington plans to remain the golf coach for next year he says he found a new passion and really enjoys his connections he builds with players.
