Fire Breaks Loose along the Owens River Road

On the After noon of September 22nd, 2016, a fire broke out along Owens River road.  Smoke was pouring into the Owens valley, leaving the air polluted. It is burning up the Sagebrush and the and Jeffery Pine. As of September 20th, 2016, the fire is considered 20% contained and has already burned over 6,050 acres of land, and the cause is still under investigation. The total of crew members that are on the case are 536, and the Lead Incident Commander in this fire is Jeff Hinsen. The nearby ranches and homes have been evacuated and fire crews are focusing on keeping those ranches and homes unharmed by the fire. Clarke Canyon is also not in use rights now because of the fire. Clarke Canyon is a popular climbing spot.  The expected end for this fire is September 30th, 2016.
