Carter Silva receives full-ride Golf Scholarship  from Holy Cross Notre Dame

Carter Silva is a unique former Bishop Union Highschool student that recently came onto quite fortunate news. Silva Attended BUHS from his Freshman year until the end of Junior year but decided to transfer his Senior year. He attended San Pasqual High School for the first semester of Senior year then went on to compete at Holy Cross at Notre Dame.

His passion for golf began at the age of 10 as his father, Tim Silva, began teaching him. He took part in competitive local tournaments for years before he reached BUHS and began to take the sport more seriously. Silva struggled with maintaining progression his sophomore but once he hit Junior year he took his game to a whole new level through hard work and determination.

During Silvas Junior year he placed First Place All-League Individual Champion and helped carry his team to CIF Team Finals. The Bishop Union team came in first place overall at the finals and he placed second individually.  From this point, Silva realized that he had a unique opportunity to utilize his golfing abilities at a more competitive level.

His family was extremely supportive throughout the entirety of his career and when he told them that he wanted to move to Escondido CA to give him a higher level of competition and enhance the chance of him being recruited to a college program. He then attended San Pasqual High School and graduated from a 4.1 after one semester.

Silva committed in December then went on to college in South Bend Indiana at Holy Cross Notre Dame. He got recruited to their NAIA Division One golf program where he received a scholarship for his academic and scholastic achievement. Currently, he plans on graduating with a Bachelors degree in Business.
