Bishop Looks to Defend Home Field From Lone Pine

After coming out of a rough tournament experience in Yerington, the Bronco boys look to bounce back next week when they take on the Lone Pine Golden Eagles here at home. The boys got their first win of the season against Mammoth last Tuesday when the Huskies came into town, and then tied Yerington 5-5 in the first game of the tournament. The boys were handed their first loss of the season by the South Lake Tahoe Vikings in the second game of the tournament, but pulled out a 4-3 win over the Dayton Dust Devils thanks to a walk-off steal of home by the shortstop Michael Kubiak. The team was unable to carry that energy into the game however, when they were beat by the West Wendover Wolverines 3-2.

The Eagles have gotten off to a better start this season than the Broncos going 3-1-1 so far with wins againstĀ  Academy of Careers and Exploration, California City, and Mineral County. The North Tahoe Lakers have been the only ones to beat the Eagles so far this season, but if the Broncos play like they did against Dayton, that won’t be the case for long.

The game will start at 3:15 on Tuesday, 3/20, so wish the boys luck and come out to support the team!
