Scorpions vs Broncos

On Tuesday, January 30th, at 5:00, the Bishop Broncos traveled to Edwards Air Force Base to take on the Desert Scorpions. The Broncos traveled with a win in mind as they hoped to maintain their undefeated streak in the High Desert League (HDL).

The last time these two teams encountered each other it was on Bronco territory where the Scorpions suffered a massive 8-1 defeat. This match, as well as Desert’s league record of just one win and six loses made the Bishop Broncos clear favorites to take the victory.

The Broncos opened the scoring just minutes after the start of the game with a solid strike by number 7, Demmis Renteria. The Broncos then continued to add to this advantage throughout the rest of the match. The final score was 9-0 in favor of the Bishop Broncos.

This match increased their undefeated HDL run to 8 in 8 unbeaten league games. The Broncos currently sit on the top of the table with just two more matches of HDL play before they are potentially crowned the HDL Champions.

The Lady Broncos also managed to get a solid 1-0 win over the Lady Scorpions earlier that evening. They are currently tied with Rosamond in first place of the HDL.

The Broncos will be travelling away from home on Thursday, February 1st, to take on Cal City. The last time these teams collided the final score was 3-0 in favor of the Broncos. A win in this match would guarantee the Broncos are Co-Champions of the HDL.

To see the Broncos in action at home, head over to their home field on Tuesday, February 6th, as they are set to have Senior Night when they take on Frazier Mountain. A win in both of these matches would mean the Bishop Broncos are the champions of the HDL for the 2017-2018 season.
