Bishop vs Desert: Girls Varsity Soccer Review

Broncos vs Scorpions

On January 11, 2018 the Bishop Broncos girls varsity soccer team hosted the Desert High School Scorpions.

During the first half in the 16th minute of play, Gisell Mora scored the first goal for the Broncos after intercepting a Scorpion pass. The second goal came a minute later in the 17th minute of play when Dulcinea Vasquez was able to beat a Scorpion defender to the and get a shot off at the left corner of the goal box just out of reach of the Scorpion goalkeeper. The third goal was in the the 21st minute of play again from Dulcinea when she beat a Scorpion defender to the left side of the field sending the ball into the far lower corner. The fourth goal came off a corner kick from Jordan Winzenread when the Scorpions goalkeeper couldn’t hold onto the ball in the 33rd minute of play. The first half ended with the Broncos leading 4-0.

In the second half, the Bronco’s Gisell Mora scored her second goal of the game in the 59th minute from the left side of the field off an assist from Taylor Dailey who crossed the ball from the right side of the field. The final goal of the game game from Emelli Mora in the 74th minute of the game. The game ended with Bishop winning 6-0 giving goalkeeper Makayla Simpson her first clean sheet of the season.
