Bishop vs Rosamond: HDL Opener

Joshua Hembree

Broncos vs Roadrunners

As the old saying goes, “You can’t win the championship on your opening match, but you can lose it.” Rosamond were the Co-Champions last season with Bishop for the High Desert League (HDL) title. Both teams were undefeated in HDL play except they lost to each other in the 2017 season. This was a monumental match because two of the top competitors for the league were set to play. This game was the opening match of the High Desert League for the Broncos.

On Tuesday, January 9th, at 5:00pm the Bishop Broncos were scheduled to go head to head with the Rosamond Roadrunners. The halftime score was 2-0 with the broncos leading. The final score of the game was 5-1 in favor of the Bishop Broncos.

Diego Solorio was a hat trick hero as he scored three of the goals for the broncos and he also managed to get one assist. Jorge Fierro scored the other two goals.

Unfortunately, the lady broncos lost 2-0 to Rosamond earlier that evening.

Next up for the broncos will be a home game against Desert on Thursday, January 11th, at 5:00pm. Then the following day, the broncos will travel to face Kern Valley. Both of these games are High Desert League matches.
