Lady Broncos Come Out on Top of Bobcats
The girls basketball team has made some major improvements in the last year. The Lady Broncos were able to get back in the win column with their victory over the Boron Bobcats on the 19th and beat last season’s record by two wins. The girls were able to jump out to an early 6 point lead and maintained their lead through the first half, ending the second quarter with a 22-15. The girls hit the second half in stride, continuing to outscore the Bobcats in the third quarter 12-8, and 20-7 in the fourth, ending with a final score of 54-30.
The standout player of the day was Junior Shawnau Johnson, who had an impressive game, putting up 21 points and getting 2 blocks on the day. Other notables include Senior Gracie Soto had 8 points and 12 rebounds, freshman Lauren Allen who had 8 points and freshman Manese Braithwaite who put up 7 points in the game.
