Cross Country Vs. Cal City and Mammoth

Matthew Rosga, Assistant to the Sports Editor/Felon

The last home meet of the cross country season ends in victory for both the Bronco boys and girls. For the boys the Broncos had a score of 19 while Cal City had a score of 36 and the Bishop girls scored 17 while Cal City scored 44. Mammoth and Lee Vining also participated in the meet but did not score.

Coach Eldridge said that both the races were great “partly because CCHS has one of the largest teams in our league, and racing against MHSreally motivates us as a team because they have such great runners. We have had parents & grandparents come out the past three home meets to volunteer and to cheer the team on, it’s been great to see such support and enthusiasm for our sport.  We were also honored to have Reid Buchanan a professional runner with Skechers and the Mammoth Track Club show up at the last two meets to give the kids advice and a pep talk.”

Eldridge has said that the team is “ready to race Frazier Mountain next week at Frazier, and then we go into the finals at Kern Valley on November 8th.”
