Dodgers vs Astros Game One

Game One of the World Series. Where do I begin, well let’s start with getting to the stadium. The gates opened at 2 pm but my dad and I got there around 11:30 am to make sure we got there in so we would be near the line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot. When we got there, there were about 4 cars or so in front of us and cars pulling in behind us as got set, now the sun was really beating down and the heat was almost unbearable.  It was so hot after we turned the car off that we were sweating after about 2 minutes so every about 15 minutes we would have to turn it back on just to get a little comfortable.  At about 12:30 my dad and I got out of the car in search of shade and when we found some there were a couple dodger fans there as well, now these guys were very cool and very knowledgeable about baseball so it was a very nice conversation until the gates opened.

When the gates opened that’s when all the interesting stuff began, so you had to go where to the gate closest to the section on your ticket so easy to say it was quite a walk to get to the gate. Once we got to our section we saw our seats and decided to go down for batting practice but that’s where security had really “tightened” up. The security guards at first weren’t going to let us down because we didn’t have seats on the field level so we couldn’t watch batting practice from the bleachers in the outfield, but after a little persuasion the security guards let us go down to the bleachers. Now down in the bleachers the heat was unbearable but we stuck it out just to watch both teams take batting practice.

Then it was almost time for the game to start and after the national anthem with a flyover by 4 US f16s it was time to start the game. Now this was the quickest game in 25 years in the World Series so this will be just as quick. The first half of the first inning was a very clean inning by the best pitcher in the world, Clayton Kershaw.  Then in the bottom half of the inning on the first pitch Chris Taylor hit a Dallas Keuchel pitch over the fence for a solo home run.  After that not much happened until Alex Bregman hit a solo home run off Kershaw in the fourth inning to even the score. Later in the 6th Inning the man with the beard came up with a runner on and Dallas still on the mound, and on an off speed pitch high in the zone,  Turner turned on it sending it over the fence as the crowd erupted.  The Turner blast turned out to be the game winning home run and a game one victory for the Dodgers.
