The Inyo County Elections Office is gearing up for the Primary Election that will be held on June 2nd, 2026. The Student Poll Worker Program is a volunteer program for qualified students to serve as precinct workers on Election Day. By volunteering, the students will have a chance to assist our public with one of their basic rights as a citizen – the right to vote. Students that participate will be able to reference their work for elections in future job applications, college tuition forms, etc. If interested in participating in the Student Poll Worker Program for the June 2nd, 2026, Primary Election, you must attend one of the mandatory trainings on the following dates. Classes will be held in the mornings. Times and locations will be provided upon sign-up.
Independence- May 14th, 2026
Bishop- May 15th, 2026
Each participating student will receive a $180 stipend from the Elections Office for working on Election Day, and a $50 stipend for attending the mandatory training. Please note that the age requirement is 16 years of age at the time of the election. If you are a Junior or even a Sophomore and are interested in the program and will be 16 by June 2nd you may apply! Please stop by counseling to pick up an application.
