The Bishop Union High School Track & Field team traveled to Ridgecrest this weekend to compete in the Burroughs Invitational, where 13 schools from Barstow to Palmdale and Tehachapi came together for a great day of competition.
Head coach Miears said “Our athletes represented Bishop very well, recording several top finishes, personal records, and multiple school records.”
Player stats:
Wyatt Miears (So) – 1st place, 49’4″. Wyatt broke the sophomore school record by 11 feet, and the mark will likely qualify him automatically for the Division IV Championships.
High Jump (Varsity)
• Carlos Sualez (Sr) – 5’6″, 4th place, and broke the Senior Class record in the high jump.
Long Jump (Varsity)
• Hunter Dailey (So) – 19’2.5″, 4th place, breaking the sophomore school record.
Triple Jump (Varsity)
• Hunter Dailey (So) – 38’9″, 5th place, also breaking the sophomore school record.
The Boys Weightman Relay team delivered an incredible performance, winning 1st place for the third year in a row and finishing nearly 100 meters ahead of the competition.
