This past weekend, the Varsity Bronco baseball team went down to Bakersfield and competed against schools from D2-D5. The Broncos came out strong against Del Oro with a 15-0 win led by Ben Kemp, Jesiah Dondero, and Daxen Svacina, all throwing well on the mound.
The Broncos had a game directly after this (double header) against Garces were the Broncos took a tough loss 9-1. Will Kemp came out strong on the mound, only allowing 3 runs throughout his outing. He was followed by Elliot Douda and Aiden Frechette on the mound.
The following day, the Broncos had another double header, the first game being Shafter, the second being Bakersfield. The Broncos came out very strong against Shafter with Knox Moffet on the mound. Knox performed very strongly on the mound and got the Broncos out of a couple of tough situations, where he was followed by Aiden Frechette, who finished the game off, securing the win 7-6 for the Broncos.
And finally, the Broncos finish up the 4-game weekend with a tough 11-1 loss against Bakersfield. All of the Broncos played great as a team, and considering it’s the first 4 games, the rest of the season is looking bright for the Broncos.
The Broncos will host the Ridgecrest Burroughs this Tuesday and will be going to Lancaster for their game against Desert Christian
