BUHS vs Yosemite

Justin Yates

Heated rematch between BUHS and Yosemite comes down to final minute.

The Bishop Broncos played the Yosemite Badgers Friday in a heated rematch, but as the saying goes history repeats its self, as once again it came down to the final minutes again in favor of the Badgers. Bishop leaned heavily on Arturo Lemus.  The Junior  was the overall MVP of the game as he led the team in receiving yards, touchdowns, and all purpose yards. With 5 receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown catch, plus one rushing touchdown, Lemus also had a total of 164 all purpose yards. Lemus was also a key member of the Bronco Defense.

Luke McClean was named offensive MVP with  5 completions for 73 yards and one touchdown.  The Sophomore also added 63 yards rushing.

The Broncos defense also came up tight for the first three quarters as Justin Brooks had 5 tackles and one forced fumble earning  defensive MVP honors.

Sophomore Wes Pettet was named special teams MVP for a quality night that included getting a piece of a Yosemite punt.

Although the Broncos had control of the game for over three quarters,  the Badgers took the lead with less than a minute remaining stealing the win. The Broncos gave a valiant effort but with no timeouts the remaining time ticked off the clock ending with a 25-21 win for the Badgers. Now the Broncos open with league play against KV Friday October 6th at home.
