TODAY’s ANNOUNCEMENTS:
FORGOT TO RSVP for the INYO COUNTY ACADEMIC AWARDS NIGHT?   You will be forgiven and you still can
attend the awards night! just get the RSVP in ASAP!  Thanks!
MINIMUM DAY FRIDAY!   That means, no homeroom and you will be heading home early UNLESS you have a
scheduled detention to serve.  See Mrs. Riggs (Attendance Office) if you are concerned about your detention(s).
JUNIORS ‐ MATH SBAC TESTING!  TODAY and TOMORROW.  Once again you will be released after 1st period for
pre‐test nourishment before reporting to same test locations as last week by 10 am!  Bring your charged
Chromebook AND pencils.  Early finishers may read – no electronics!
GUIDANCE OFFICE CLOSED!  Due to SBAC testing on Tuesday/Wednesday, May 23rd & 24th during 2nd – 5th
periods.

ASB SPEECHES & VOTING:  Freshmen candidate speeches will be on Thursday, May 25th and Junior Class
candidates will be on Tuesday, May 30 during homeroom.   
PERFECT ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE:  Every student who has perfect attendance (no tardies or absences) for the
next three weeks will be eligible to win a special prize!!!!  See Mrs. Riggs in the main office if you have
questions.
TESTING SCHEDULES:  JUNIORS’ SBAC/CAASPP testing will be taking place in the West Gym as follows:
May 23 & 24 – SBAC/Math – Release at 2nd period for breakfast, testing hours for 5/23: 10 AM – 12:41, 5/24: 10 AM – 12:05
BRONCO STUDENT CENTER ‐ NOW OPEN EVENINGS!!!   The Bronco Student Center will be open on Monday,
Wednesday, & Friday after school until 6:30 PM and on Tuesday & Thursday until 9:00 PM throughout the month of May.  
 EVERY Thursday – Open Mic at 7 PM  ‐  
 Wednesday, May 24, 4:30 ‐ 6:00 PM at the BSC: Movie Night #3:  Don’t miss “Gnomeo and Juliet” ‐ The
neighboring gardens of Montague and Capulet are at war, but the gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, are in
love. Ask your teacher about extra credit opportunities for attending. Snacks provided, FREE!!!!!  
 THORNBURG IS DAFT!   Mark Jackson, Engineer/Entrepreneur, will address interested Broncos on Tuesday,
May 30 (not on May 16, as he previously indicated), at 12:30PM. Got a product idea? Questions about
engineering or machining? 3‐D printing? AutoCAD? Wanna learn how to get schooled for a career in applied
science , or learn about a Bishop High alum’s trek through tech? Lunchtime, Tuesday the 30th (after Mule
Days). Check with Thornburg for a sign‐up sheet or for more information.

DO YOU NEED A JOB?? Come to an employability workshop to receive job application and interviewing tips, plus
help getting a job and keeping a job!  May 30 or May 31 after school: 4‐5 pm in the Bronco Student Center.  Sign
up in the Guidance Office to reserve your spot.  Tony Unger a community volunteer will workshop employability
skills and connect you to a local business seeking employees.  You MUST sign up if you plan to attend.  You must
be at least 15 to attend.  
YEARBOOKS ARE NOW $75!   This price will remain until Monday, June 6th.  Order yours online at Balfour.com
or bring a check or exact cash to room 204 during lunch or after school.  Yearbooks will be distributed on
Tuesday, June 6th and the price will be $80!  Sharpies will also be sold for $1.
BOYS BASKETBALL OPEN GYM:   Month of May:  Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30‐7:30 except the 15th and 17th
(Volleyball Camp until 8:30 those nights).
