CLUB TEXAS ALL SKILLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP:   Camp begins TODAY, 5:30‐8pm.  See Coach Frigerio!
OUTDOOR CLUB CLIMBING TRIP!  Students, if you are going on the OC climbing trip, the NEXT three Tuesday
meetings are MANDATORY. Meet in the East Gym. Permission slips are due on Tuesday, May 16th.  
S.A.T. STUDY SESSIONS:   The SAT Club will meet every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in
the Bronco Student Center. Join us to boost your SAT scores! Bring your Chromebooks.  Sponsored by AVID!
LAST LEO CLUB MEETING OF THE YEAR:  Wednesday, May 17th @ lunch in Ms. Helfrich Holland’s room!  Lunch

NASA CLUB IS ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS AND/OR SELF NOMINATION FOR NEXT YEARS LEADERS.  Positions
available are President/Vice‐Pres/Secretary/Treasurer/Historian.  Applications can be picked up in the Liaisons
room in the main bldg., room #121.  We will be voting at our next meeting, on Wednesday, May 17th.
NASA MTG:  Wednesday, May 17 at BUHS tech center during Lunch hour.  Lunch will be served and we will be
voting for our next year’s club officers/leaders.  Come join us for club activities, voting and a great lunch.
GIRLS PLANNING TO PLAY SOCCER NEXT YEAR:  Meeting on Thursday, May 18 at lunch in room 202.  
BSC EVENTS:   
 GUEST SPEAKER:  Mark Jackson has been messing around with spacecraft, Volkswagen Bugs, automated
toothpaste dispensers, supersonic aircraft, racing wheelchairs, mountain bike emergency medical sleds, and
drip irrigation systems since the mid‐’70s. He’s competent while in a machine shop, programming a 3‐D
printer, prototyping a product from AutoCAD up, or wrenching a set of custom dual carbs. He’s a
contracting mechanical engineer, an entrepreneur, and a Bishop High grad (dark ages: 1979). He’ll speak
with interested Bishop High Students on Tuesday, May 16 on everything from attending Cal Poly SLO to
reverse engineering car accidents (forensic engineering). Interested? You’ll need to speak with Mr.
Thornburg, BSC, x2775.
 Wednesday, May 17, 5:00 ‐ 6:00 PM at the BSC: Cerro Coso Community College Night.  Stop by the BSC
before the talent show and meet with a Cerro Coso counselor. Get help with applications, registration, and
ask all you questions about our own local campus.
 Friday, May 19, 4:00 ‐ 6:00 PM at the BSC: Movie Night #2:  Don’t miss “The Help” What its about: An
aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African
American maids’ point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go
through on a daily basis. Ask your teacher about extra credit opportunities for attending. Snacks provided,

 Wednesday, May 24, 4:30 ‐ 6:00 PM at the BSC: Movie Night #3:  Don’t miss “Gnomeo and Juliet” ‐ The
neighboring gardens of Montague and Capulet are at war, but the gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, are in
love. Ask your teacher about extra credit opportunities for attending. Snacks provided, FREE!!!!!
DO YOU NEED A JOB?? Come to an employability workshop to receive job application and interviewing tips, plus
help getting a job and keeping a job!  May 30 or May 31 after school: 4‐5 pm in the Bronco Student Center.  Sign
up in the Guidance Office to reserve your spot.  Tony Unger a community volunteer will workshop employability
skills and connect you to a local business seeking employees.  You MUST sign up if you plan to attend.  You must
be at least 15 to attend.

TESTING SCHEDULES:  JUNIORS’ SBAC/CAASPP testing will be taking place in the West Gym as follows:
May 16 & 17 – SBAC/English – Release at 2nd period for breakfast, testing hours at 10 AM – 12:41
May 23 & 24 – SBAC/Math – Release at 2nd period for breakfast, testing hours for 5/23: 10 AM – 12:41, 5/24: 10 AM – 12:05
 SOPHOMORE CAST TESTING:  California Science Test (CAST) Pilot is Thursday, May 18th.  Report for CAST at 11:14 (test ends 12:41)
BRONCO STUDENT CENTER ‐ NOW OPEN EVENINGS!!!   The Bronco Student Center will be open on Monday,
Wednesday, & Friday after school until 6:30 PM and on Tuesday & Thursday until 9:00 PM throughout the month of May.  
 EVERY Thursday – Open Mic at 7 PM
 Tuesday, May 16th: Caitlin Ward, Broadway award‐winning theatrical designer/costumer will hook up live at 12:30PM.
