TODAY’s ANNOUNCEMENTS:

TONIGHT is the POETRY OUT LOUD COMPETITION!   Everyone is invited to attend the competition, 6:30 PM at the ICA Theater (Inyo Council for the Arts, 137 S. Main St., Bishop).   Good luck to our poets: Vivianna Martinez, Emily Kershner and Joy Law.

LAST DAY PURCHASE VALENTINE GRAMS IS TOMORROW! Contact Mr. Rowan or your ASB officers to purchase a $2 Valentine Gram! Each one includes a rose and a note that will be distributed on Valentine’s Day. Buy one for your friends, BFF, to thank someone who was nice to you, to thank your teachers, etc.

3rd QUARTER PROGRESS REPORTS!  Get those late and missing assignments turned in ASAP!  The 3rd qtr. progress reporting period ends on Friday and this means progress reports will be mailed home next week!

SALSA AND SOMBREROS VOLUNTEERS!  Please be at the fairgrounds (Home Economics Building) at 5:00pm sharp THIS Saturday, February 11th.

PLEASE wear a bright‐colored shirt with black plants or dark jeans.  See you there!

JUNIORS & SENIORS:  If you are interested in learning more about Engineering and are “a‐g” eligible (grades all Cs or better), and enrolled in at least Math 3 or PreCalc, Chemistry, Physics or other advanced Science – See Mrs. Andersen about an out of town field trip to learn about all the career possibilities in the field of Engineering on February 24th .  ASAP space is limited to 8 students!

VARSITY MATHLETES PRACTICE:  At lunch on Tuesday 2/14 in Buchholz room.  Only 2 Meets left this season!     Let’s get ready for the Meet, do some math and eat some PIZZA!!!

GIRLS STATE APPLICATIONS:  Junior Girls, your deadline has been extended to Wednesday, February 15!

WINTER DANCE INFO:

 DRESS CODE for the DANCE:  The dress code is CASUAL but feel free take it to Dressy Casual for this special event!  Also, be mindful of the BUHS Dress Code.  Thank you!

 SINGLES & COUPLES!! GET YOUR TICKETS NOW for the DANCE!  Everyone is welcome to attend the Sadie Hawkins Winter Wonderland Dance to be held on Saturday, February 11th in the East Gym.  Tickets will be $10 with ASB and $15 without.  See Mr. Rowan in room 803 during break/lunch!  Bring exact cash for your ticket!   .

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES!  20 hours of service is a graduation requirement.

 CSF STUDENTS:  Round Valley Science Night (TONIGHT, February 9th) needs volunteers from 4:30 – 8 PM.   Also, 10 volunteers are needed to help with the Elementary School Science night on February 23rd from 4:30PM – 8 PM.  Pizza dinner provided for volunteers.  Sign up with Mrs. Andersen in the Guidance Office FRIDAY is a BRONCO BLUE DAY!

 See Mr. Rowan in room 803 to sign up to help clean up after the Sadie Hawkins Dance on Sunday, Feb. 12 from 8 AM – noon.  A similar opportunity will be available in May for Prom clean‐up!

REPEAT NEWS:

ACT TEST ON SATURDAY!  Testers should report to the Math Building by 7:45 AM with your admission tickets, photo ID, #2 pencils and approved calculator.  No cell phones, smart watches are allowed.  No exceptions.

MARCH 11TH SAT:  Registration for the March 11th SAT deadline is February 10th. Register on‐line at www.sat.org/register ; the BUHS School Code is 050345.  The Guidance Office can help if you have questions! JUNIOR REMINDER: The UNR “Nevada Bound” Campus visit/tours are in progress and the Inyo County Superintendent of Schools will cover your hotel!  Visit the Guidance webpage for dates and registration details.

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL SPEECH CONTEST!  All students are eligible to compete.  Deadline to sign up is Friday, February 24!  Contest is Tuesday, February 28th. See Mrs. Andersen in the Guidance Office for rules/entry form!
