The Bishop Broncos Fall to the Ontario Christian Knights

The Broncos fell to a strong Ontario Christian football team Saturday night in Ontario, California 57-7. The Knights scored a touchdown on the first play of the game and built a 50-0 lead at halftime. The Broncos showed a strong determination playing in the second half scoring a touchdown. And holding the Knights to 7 points in the second half. 

Coach Arnie Palu names four athletes, players of the game.  Overall player of the game going to Austin Powel, senior running back and linebacker, who carried the ball 13 times for 70 yards. Powell added 55 kickoff return yards and had a pair of tackles on defense. Offensive player of the game went to Levi Derr, the sophomore receiver made 4 catches for 35 yards. Defensive player of the game went to Elijah Reynolds, junior Linebacker had 5 solo tackles including 2 tackles for loss. Reynolds also had a QB hurry. Special Teams honors went to Milton Michel who racked up 78 yards on three kickoff returns and handled the punting and kickoff.

Milton Michel 5 tackles Nelo Dondero 7 tackles Malachi Orrick 7 tackles Jason Mullner 6 tackles Richie Talavera 6 tackles Carlos Sualez 4 tackles Garren Pritchard 4 tackles Offensive Contributors Boden St. Marie 9/18 passing 71 yards Malachi Orrick 2 catches for 27 yards Blaise Lemons 2 catches.

Next up for the Broncos is Rim of the World right in the Schwab at 7 p.m. on Friday. Rim of the World is 2-2 and is looking for payback after beating them at their Homecoming game with a field goal ending the score with 30-28. Go Broncos.

My name is Jason Mullner, and I am a Senior at Bishop Union High School. I was born in Upland, California on April 18th, 2006. I am half Peruvian and half white. I moved around a lot when I was little starting from sunny Southern California in the cities of  Upland, Ontario, and Rancho Cucamonga to moving to Bishop, California. I moved to Bishop when I was 13 and have been here ever since. I am a student-athlete and play football, my positions are tight end and outside linebacker. I like to hang out with friends and go to the gym in my free time. This is my first year in Bronco RoundUp and I'm looking forward to being in this class.

My name is Amanda Thompson and I am a junior at bishop union high school. My favorite subjects in school are math and art. Outside of school I like to hang out with friends, work, and travel. After high school I plan on going to a trade school in either Montana or Texas to become a  diesel mechanic. This year in bronco roundup I plan on covering  ASB/ student senate and also doing photography for our school farm/ FFA. My freshman and sophomore year I raised a lamb in FFA and I enjoyed it a lot so I am excited to do photography for FFA.
