This week I got a great opportunity to interview Derek Moisant, aka Mr. Mosisant.
Mr. Moisant is the new Principal here at BUHS and so far it’s going pretty well.
Mr. Moisant was a “Military brat” which means his father was in the US Military and after being a military brat, he joined the Army and was enlisted for 6 years. After the military, Mr. Moisant became an educator and has been an educator for 28 years. Mr. Moisants has 4 lovely children Sam (21), Mia (19), Megan (16), and Matt (11). This summer Mr. Moisant spent some time in Texas during their heat wave and he also enjoyed his uncle’s pool. In Mr. Moisant’s free time, he enjoys watching football and hanging out with his friends and family. Also, his favorite food is street tacos with iced tea.
Mr. Moisant’s goals for this school year are to “support all students and staff, with any and every need. Another goal is to be present during passing periods and in classrooms” and his final goal is to hold himself accountable in ensuring the staff is supported and feels valued. This school year he is also looking forward to “all the positivity we are starting to build,” and he’s looking forward to all the growth that the student body will show.
Lastly, I asked Mr. Moisant about his TikTok and he said “That TikTok is crazy. So many people watch them, I’ll keep making them and post new ones on Sunday. Gotta support the Raiders.” And don’t forget to follow @derekmoisant.
