On Tuesday, May 9, Bronco Golfers traveled to Valley Oaks Golf Course in Visalia, California to compete in the Division 2 playoffs against other student golfers from various California schools. The Broncos were unable to advance, but the golfers still played a commendable match. Adam Kalk proved to shoot the lowest score with an 83. Corde Peek and Kobe Carpenter followed with 86s. Reyna Naranjo shot an 89, Stephan Poole and Parker Pope both shot 98. While the Broncos’ season has come to an end, they can be proud of their 2023 season overall. Except for the playoffs, the team shot the lowest overall score every single match.

We were able to ask Senior Golfers Reyna Naranjo and Stephan Poole some questions about their season experience.

Q: What are your thoughts on the season?

A: “It went well. The team had good chemistry.” – Stephan

A: “The heightened budget was really nice. We got shoes, shirts, and a golf trip to Vegas.” – Reyna

Q: What was the highlight of your season?

A: “Making par on the last hole at Cal City to shoot an 85 and qualify for CIF.” – Stephan

A: “The team dinners were my highlights of the season, they were really fun.” – Reyna

After graduating, Reyna Naranjo plans to go to school at George Fox University and play for their golf team. “I am so excited,” Reyna commented.
