Bishop Lady Broncos Didn’t Soar High Enough

On Thursday, February 23 the Bishop Lady Soccer came to an end. Last night Bishop Lady Soccer hosted the Lompoc Braves in the CIF Central District Division championship game. Senior JuliAnna Jackson scored Bishop’s only goal in the first half from a penalty shot. At halftime the score was 1-2 in favor of the Braves. The final score of the games 1-5 leaving the Broncos in a heartwarming loss.

The Lady Broncos would like to thank the very skilled team Lompoc Braves and congratulate them for being the CIF Central District for champions and wish them the best of luck in regional play.

Bishop Lady Broncos finished 2nd in the CIF Central District Division 4 playoffs. The Lady Broncos were ranked 1st in CIF Central District Division 5 and were the CIF Central District Division 5 High Desert League Champions. Going 14-0 in league play.

The Lady Broncos would like to thank the BUHS administration and staff, Athletic Director Stacy Van Nest, district transportation, Mammoth orthopedics gage Ramirez who was the teams athletic trainer, and all the parents who contributed this year to include Lisa Vetter, the Braaten’s, the Norcross’, and the Buchholz’. The team could not have made it this far without their help and support this season. But most of all the team would like to thank all the parents and the community for their constant support.

Senior Zoe Dailey, Kenia Gonzalez, JuliAnna Jackson, Annabell Mojica, and Larissa Simpson were a vital part of the team success and their leadership would be greatly missed next year. The team wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

Head coach Bill Dailey stated “he was amazed on how this team came together and played throughout the entire season and the playoffs” said Coach Dailey. He said “the team faced and overcame a lot of adversities throughout the season”. He is “real proud of their success and accomplishment they made as a team”.
