Thursday 16th Bishop Varitsy Mathletes traveled to Boron High School, not expecting their most challenging meet yet. The math problems could give any student a headache and the Mathletes still brought home second place with a total of 13 points.

Mathletes Rose Bracken, Anwyn Benson-Hernandez, Rain Naranjo, Sam, and Josh Wilson traveled to Boron. Josh and Rain’s first meet was this one, and I don’t believe this one will be the one that they will forget. Rose Bracken (Third) and Sam Wilson (Fourth) earned individual ribbons.

BUHS Math teacher and Mathletes Coach DeeDee Buchholz said, “This was one of the toughest problem sets I’ve seen!
Great job Bishop for bringing home second place.” To be exact BUHS Mathletes were the only school to answer a math question. (Point A is inside square BCDE whose side length is 20. The length of AB is 9 while the length of AE is 13. Find the length of AC.)

The JV Mathletes will be traveling to Rosamond on December 7th to fight for their first place. While Varsity will be traveling to Rosamond on January 18th, 2023.
