Bishop FFA has finished up its month of October fundraising and is preparing for a sectional opening and closing competition as well as other competitions within the next few months.

Over the course of October, Bishop FFA has fundraised with their Pumpkin Patch and Haunted Swamp. Both fundraisers were a huge success and with the money they raised, they plan to buy a bull, hay, and possibly a new tractor to help make the School Farm better.

Bishop FFA also plans to send three groups to a sectional Opening and Closing Competition on November 15th at Bakersfield High School. Each group consists of six members, a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, reporter, and sentinel and the competition consists of memorizing and reciting the official FFA meeting opening and closing in front of judges to be placed against other FFA chapters.

More information will be announced at the November monthly meeting which will be held on November 17th at lunch in Buffington’s classroom. There will be more travel and competition opportunities for FFA in the future so be sure to keep an eye out for that information as it is announced.
