Interview on attendance lady Ms. Kacey Lewis

Cinthia Laguna, Writer

Kacey Lewis is our attendance lady here at BUHS. She started her journey here at Bishop High in October 2021. She is originally from Smith Valley Nevada but mostly lived in Arroyo Grande California. She decided to move to Bishop because her mom’s family is from here and her grandfather passed away a month before she moved out here. Her main purpose for moving out here was because she wanted to help her grandmother after her grandfather’s death and she decided to stay here after that. Kacey has always loved Bishop mostly because she would always spend her summers out here; she just loves it here so much. Her previous job was at Wildiris working as a family and child advocate. Her main motivation to work as an attendance clerk here at BUHS was she thought it would be a good opportunity to work with the youths (students). Something that she loves or enjoys the most about her job is she enjoys working with us students because she learns something from each one of us every day. She says the most challenging part of her job is having to be quick and on top of everything, maintaining a level of calmness and composure, and being consistent with the public and parents. The hard part about her being an attendance clerk is “probably trying to remember new details throughout the day and making sure not to forget anything”, said Kacey. She travels to her hometown Smith Valley Nevada often and loves going back. The central coast is one of her favorite places to go because she gets to see her childhood friends and all of her family. Her experience here at Bishop Union High is she loves how resilient the students are and she loves how resilient the students are and seeing the changes they’ve had over the last two years and really appreciates getting to work in an environment where she sees the students growing up and changing throughout time. She’s happy to be here and see all the development the students have had and enjoys working with each student and getting to know them a little better. She loves her job and enjoys every bit of it.
