The Broncos open HDL play with a 28-13 win over the California City Ravens. In the first half of the game the Broncos were able to build a comfortable 21-0 lead. California City battled back making the score 21-13 before the Broncos added a 4th quarter Boden St. Marie touchdown making the score 28-13.
The Broncos leave California City 6-0 for the year and 1-0 in High Desert League. Boden St. Marie played a role in all four touchdowns running for a pair of scores and throwing touchdowns passes to Cheveyo Marquez and Aden Arndal. St. Marie had his most efficient passing game completing 8 of 13 passes for 124 yards. Cain Omohundro caught three passes for 43 yards and Cheveyo Marquez caught a pair of passes for 50 yards.

Defensively the Broncos had a big night from Sophomore Elijah Reynolds. The linebacker made 5 solo tackles and 4 assists. He also had a key interception. Kaelan Smith made 5 solo tackles including two tackles for a loss and a sack. Omohundro added 4 solo tackles and a tackle for a loss. Wes Jorgensen made 4 solo tackles including a tackle for loss. Carson Schmidt made 3 solo tackles and 3 assists and blocked a point after attempt. Milton Michel made 3 solo tackles and played a key role on special teams with two kickoff returns into Raven territory.

Broncos have a bye this week before they host rival Kern Valley on Friday October 14th for senior night.
