Another strong performance by Caleb Gillem powers the Broncos to a victory over rival Kern Valley.  Bishop jumped out to a 9-0 lead before KV scored 4 runs in the 2nd and 2 runs in the 3rd making the score 9-6.  The Broncos answered with 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd and 4 runs in the 4th to put the game out of reach. The Broncos moved to 7-0 in High Desert League play with the 18-6 win.

Gillem had a five-hit game last week at Desert and backed that performance up with a 4 for 4 days against Kern Valley. Gillem collected four hits in his 4 at-bats including a single in the first inning, a double in the second, a triple in the third, and a single in the fourth. Gillem was just a home run short of hitting for the cycle.  Bishop did have a home run Tuesday as catcher Reese Dondero hit an inside-the-park home run scoring three runs.

Jake Frigerio got the start for Bishop Broncos. The senior surrendered four runs on three hits over two innings, striking out two. Acie Valdivia pitched the final three innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out one.

Bishop Broncos collected 18 hits on the day. Gillem, Acie Valdivia, Jamisen Wolfe, Jonathan Thomson, Dondero, and Frigerio each had multiple hits for Bishop Broncos. Gillem went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Bishop Broncos in hits. Kennedy Batchelder led Bishop Broncos with five stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.
