Gillem’s High 5 Leads Broncos to Victory over Desert

Junior Caleb Gillem had five hits driving in five runs in Bishop’s 25-1 win at Desert Tuesday.  Gillem and the Broncos enjoyed their trip to Edwards Air Force Base keeping their High Desert League record perfect with another victory.  With the victory the Broncos improve to 11-3 on the season and 6-0 in the HDL. 

Bishop Broncos secured the win with 14 run fifth inning. The big inning was driven by singles by Gillem, Kennedy Batchelder, Bodie Garcia, Jamisen Wolfe, and Jake Frigerio, a fielder’s choice by Acie Valdivia, and a double by Albert Cano.

Riley Eropkin was the starting pitcher for the Broncos. The junior allowed no runs and no hits striking out two and walking one.  Also pitching for the broncos were sophomores Bodie Garcia and Noah Cathey. Garcia pitched 2 innings,  surrendered zero runs, one hit, and 3 strikeouts. Cathy worked one scoreless inning.
