Bronco Varsity Baseball Stays Hot with Another Victory

The Broncos took advantage of a 7-run 4th inning defeating Burroughs 10-9 Wednesday afternoon in Ridgecrest. The Broncos big inning put them up 7-3 after 4 innings of play. Bishop added 3 insurance runs in the top of the 6th and they would need them all as Burroughs rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th. Ultimately the Broncos held on for the one-run win. 

Senior Jake Frigerio started on the mound for the Broncos recording 6 strikeouts. Frigerio also had a big day at the plate going 3 for 4 with an RBI and scoring 2 runs.  Frigerio is off to a blazing start at the plate hitting .647 through the first five games of the season. 

Albert Cano had 2 hits, Hector Martinez, Acie Valdivia, Reese Dondero, Kennedy Batchelder each had one hit. Valdivia, Batchelder, and Dondero each drove in a pair of runs for the Broncos Wednesday. Overall the Broncos pounded out 10 hits vs Burros pitching. 

Next up for the Broncos is Tuesday’s trip to Lone Pine on the 15th before returning home for their home opener on Tuesday, March 22nd when they open High Desert League play with Frazier Mt.  The HDL opener is set for a 3:15 first pitch at Tatum Field on the campus of Bishop Union High School.
