Bishop Union High School’s Snowboard Team’s First Races

Bishop Union High School’s Snowboarding Team had their first two races on Jan 13, 2022, and greatly beat out their opponents. The weather on the first race was good but greatly unpredictable on the second. Overall the Broncos were able to work their way through with an outstanding performance.

The first race started with Teb del Guidice taking first place with his first run at 53.94 and his second run at 55.90, for an overall time of 1:46.84. Bishop also took second place with Blake Winzenread having a first time of 55.89 and a second time of 56.02 for an overall time of 1:51.91. Sam Johnston took 4th place with 1:56.72 overall as well. BUHS was ahead of all other teams, only being barely kept up with by Mammoth High School.

The second race also came with an exceptional amount of BUHS runners once again placing high with Teb del Guidice with the first run of 49.71 and a second run of 48.93 for an overall time of 1:38.64. Bishop also took second with  Blake Winzenread having a first time of 49.91 and the second run of 48.82 for an overall time of 1:38.73. Sam Johnston once again took 4th place with a 1:42.19 overall and Deekon Trim in 5th place with a 1:45.07 overall.

“The BUHS snowboard team did very well today,” said Coach del Giudice. “The weather was cooperating for the first race then got a little dicey for the second race,” he added.

Their next race is scheduled at Mammoth Mountain on Feb 10, 2022, once again against Mammoth High School and Rim of the World High School.
