Bishop’s girls varsity basketball team defeated Lone Pine 41-21 on Tuesday evening.  The game marked the first competition in Bishop Union High School’s Gus Klekas Gym since Covid stopped the basketball season in early 2020. Prior to this weeks win over Lone Pine the Bronco girls had not played at home since dropping a High Desert League game vs. Kern Valley on February 11th, 2020.  A large crowd turned out to watch the team return to action Tuesday evening.

The girls victory started a entertaining night for Bronco fans as the boys followed with a convincing 79-40 win.

Angie Lent, Geneva Molina, Eve Dondero, Idalia Jimenez, Rylee Arcularius, and Uriah Martinez all put up some points last night. Angie with 15, Geneva with 8, Eve with 7, Idalia with 4, Rylee with 2, and Uriah with 4. Altogether the girls had 33 rebounds.

The girls next game is at the Whittell Madness in South Lake Tahoe for the Mountains Tournament.
