Senior Athlete ready for College

Joseph Weaver is a senior at Bishop Union High School and plays football and basketball. After high school, he will be planning on going to college to study Business Administration Management while hopefully having the chance to play football. I got some time to catch up with joe.

When Joe was asked what has been his favorite memory in Bishop he responded by saying “One of my favorite memories here in Bishop would have to be when we won the CIF Championship here on our home field in front of many people. I had never felt so alive and grateful for the hard work the whole football organization had done.”

I then asked him where does he see himself in ten years he said “I see myself in the NFL, I’m going to work hard enough to make it to the league I don’t care.”

He was asked about what he will miss the bishop and he said “I will definitely miss my family and friends the most. It’s not going to be easy splitting up and going our own ways into adult life. I’ll also miss BUHS, all the memories and times where I’ve laughed uncontrollably here. I’m going to miss everything about Bishop.”

For his favorite sports memory, he said “I will always remember winning the league championship here in our basketball gym vs Cal City freshman year. I’ll also never forget when we won the CIF Championship just this past year.”

When asked if he was ready for the future he sat there and had to think for a minute but he responded he said “Yes I am, it’s going to be much different not having my parents around and my sister but I feel like going off on my own with or without friends will be good. Having the opportunity to meet new people and see what else the world has to offer me.”

My final question towards Joe was do you regret anything and he responded with a smile on his face “Nah, everything I’ve done made me the person who I am today.”

Joe will be highly missed at this high school by the staff and his friends and teammates. We all wish Joe the best of luck for his new to come life.
