Q&A With Uriah Martinez

Today I had the opportunity to ask JV Softball player Uriah Martinez a few questions to give us a little insight into the season.

Q: What made you decide to play Softball this year? How long have you been playing?

A: I wanted to play softball this year because I love the sport and I’ve been playing ever since I was a little girl.

Q: So far, what are your thoughts on Softball? Are you enjoying it?

A: I think that the season is going to be fun. I hope there will be no drama this year. But so far I am enjoying the season all the girls are super energetic and are fun to play softball with.

Q: Do you think Softball is a fun sport to play? Why?
A: Yes, softball is a fun sport because you get to get dirty sliding and diving in the dirt, yelling at the top of your lungs to support your teammates and making new friends and memories.

Q: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player? What positions do you play?
A: Sliding is one of my weaknesses but I can dive into the base. I can play any position that my coach puts me at but right now I am the pitcher or 2nd base and center field.

Q: What are your favorite parts about playing on a High School Team?
A: The traveling is by far my favorite part going to different schools to play. The bus rides are fun too and being able to go to dinner with your teammates.

Q: How do you think the team is going to do this year?

A: I think we’re going to do good this year we all put in 100% at practice and give it our all so overall I think it’s going to be a great season.

You can come out and support Uriah and her team this coming Tuesday, March 3, at the Bishop City Park against Lee Vining.
