Broncos Tie up Roadrunners
Last Thursday, the Bishop Bronco Wrestling team competed against Rosamond High School. Three of our Bronco Wrestlers, Carson Schmidt at 122 pounds, William Hennarty at 128 pounds, and Scott Hennarty at 154 pounds, all received forfeits and there were only five official matches all ending in pins. Senior Alonso Ahumada at 172 pounds and Freshman Riley Powers at 184 pounds bothearned pins in the first period.
The final team score was a tie: Broncos 30, Rosamond 30.
Coach Mark Hodges said, “We always have exhibition matches at the end of the official meet, so that everyone gets a chance to wrestle and sometimes the exhibition matches are the most exciting to watch. It’s enjoyable to see how the wrestlers have improved this season.”
