Bronco Wrestling Opens with a Win over Rosamond

Broncos Wrestling vs. Rosamond

 

The Bishop Bronco wrestling team opened up the season with a win over Rosamond. Unfortunately out of the 13 wrestlers, there was only 5 official matches all of which ended in pins. Although, 3 of our wrestlers received forfeits. 

The matches started off with Carlson Schmidt, wrestling at 132 pounds he was able to pin his opponent in 93 seconds. John Drew, wrestling at 138 pounds started running up the score 9-1 before pinning his opponent in the 3rd period. Jacob Lomaintewa went up against Rosamonds best wrestler after starting late to the season and only getting a few practices in, he put up a fight and got pinned with just 40 seconds left in the match. The fastest bronco pin of the evening was by senior Alonso Ahumada pinning his opponent in 71 seconds. 

The final score was Broncos 36, Rosamond 12. The next meet will be Thursday, January 9th against the Kern Valley Broncs.
