Bishop Wins Their First League Game Against Rosamond

BUHS Girls Tennis team hosted their third league game of the season against Rosamond. The match was held this past Tuesday, October 8 at the Bishop City Park.

First up were the single games. The number one singles player Brooke Winzenread remains undefeated in league, winning 6-1 and 6-4. Jacee Carpenter was next, winning her first set 7-5, losing her second set 6-2, but coming back in the tiebreaker winning 12-10. Madison Foster lost both of her sets 6-4 and 6-2 and Sydney McAdam lost as well 6-3 and 6-2. Madelyn Bigham lost her singles 6-1 and 6-0. The final singles player Olivia Seitz put on a fight losing her first set 6-1, coming back and winning 6-3 and forcing a tiebreaker to take place but ended up losing 11-9.

Doubles were next and each team dominated winning all 3 of their matches. The number one doubles team was Brooke Winzenread and Madison Foster. They won their first set 6-4 and were leading their second set 2-1 when Rosamond forfeited the set due to an injury. The second doubles team was Jacee Carpenter and Cheyenne Yeager. They won their sets 6-1 and 6-4. The final doubles team was Elizabeth Poncho and Hailey Bragdon, who lost their first set 6-3, they came back and won their second 6-3 and had to go into a 10-point tiebreaker.  Poncho and Bragdon ended up winning their tiebreaker 12-10.

This coming Thursday Bishop travels to play Kern Valley. This will be their fourth league game of the season as they strive for two wins in a row.
