Broncos Fall Short in Home Opener

The Bronco Boys held their first game of the year at home last Friday when they hosted their league rivals, the Rosamond Roadrunners. After shutting down the Roadrunners in the first, the Broncos plated a run in the bottom half of the inning but then gave up 3 runs in the top of the second. The Broncos rallied in the bottom of the third to tie the game up at 3, before scoring two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. The top of the sixth got away from the Broncos and the Roadrunners plated five more runs before allowing one more run to come across for Bishop in the bottom half of the inning. After holding the Roadrunners scoreless in the top of the seventh, the Broncos found themselves in a walk-off situation; bases juiced and 2 outs. The last out of the game was made on a hot shot to the first baseman that, unfortunately, just couldn’t find outfield grass.

The loss sets the Broncos record at 3-2 overall, and 0-1 in League. Bishop will look to rebound when they take on the Desert Scorpions at Edwards Air Force Base this Tuesday, 3/19/19, at 3:15.
