Sophomore MaNeSe Starts as Pitcher on Varsity Softball

MaNeSe Braithwaite is a sophomore at Bishop Union High School who plays multiple sports every year. During the Winter she plays varsity basketball, and in the Spring she plays varsity softball as well. MaNeSe has been playing since she was about 5-6, which is about ten years. The Softball team’s first game is actually tomorrow, March 8th, in Yerington.

Below is a series of questions I asked MaNeSe about Softball:

How long of you been a pitcher in softball?
“I’ve only been pitching for like a couple of years.”

Do you enjoy being a pitcher?
“Sometimes, it’s a lot of pressure being pitcher but I enjoy pitching.”

Are there other positions that you can play?
“I know how to play every position.”

How do you think the varsity softball team is this year?
“I think we are alright, we only have three seniors, a couple sophomores, and the rest are juniors. But practice makes perfect, we will get better.”

Is softball your favorite sport?
“Yes, softball is my favorite sport but I also like playing basketball. When I was ten I played on a softball team from Gardnerville, we played teams from all over Nevada and won the All- State Tournament.”
