The Bishop Bronco Varsity and California City played a taut affair on Friday, but the Bronco Varsity eventually prevailed 8-6 after taking the lead for good in the fifth inning. Lorenzo Parra had the first RBI of the game on his big triple. The Broncos were down 6-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Brodie Maloney had a 2 RBI single. The Broncos earned their victory despite allowing Cal City to score five runs in the fifth inning. Blake Johnston pitched 4 plus innings, with Brodie Maloney, Lukas Di Angelo and Michael Kubiak combining to close out the game.
