Tennis Begins Their March Towards Finals

Yesterday Bishop hosted the qualifying round for Tennis CIF. The top players from each school attended to play for a spot in Finals. Bishop senior Emelli Mora went undefeated in singles for the tournament to capture first place in the league and will represent Bishop on October 26th in Bakersfield as well Molly Foster and Brooke Winzenread in doubles.

Emelli’s first match against Desert went to a tie-break which she won 10-5. Her second match she easily won against kv 6-2, 6-0 . In her last match in the finals she beat Rosamond 6-3, 6-2.

The Bishop doubles team of Molly Foster and Brooke Winzenread won their first match against Rosamond 6-4, 6-2 then faced Desert winning 6-3, and falling 6-3, and lost their tie-break 10-5 . Foster and Winzenread continued to compete and placed 3rd easily beating Rosamond 6-2, 6-1.

The other doubles team for the Broncos consisted of Madi Foster and Izzy Munoz. This was their first time playing together as a doubles team. They won their first set 6-4, lost their second set against Rosamond 6-3 then lost their tie break 10-5.
