Broncos Get Back on Track With Win Over Desert
May 4, 2018
Broncos 10 Run Rule Scorpions at Home
The Broncos were looking to bounce back after their loss to Rosamond earlier this week, with a win over the Desert Scorpions at home. The boys came out and kept the scorpions off the boar in the first two innings, and scored a rune of their own in the bottom of the first. The Scorpions finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the third, and the Broncos responded by driving in 4 in the bottom of the inning. The Scorpions then brought home another run in the top of the fourth, and Bishop responded to that with 10 more runs in the bottom of the inning. In the final inning of the game, the Scorpions were able to bring home two more runs before finally being sat down to end the game, giving the Broncos a 15-4 win.
Jalen Watterson was player of the game, getting the start, going four innings, allowing only 2 runs (only 1 earned), on 5 hits, 4 walks and getting 2 Ks. Jay also went 2-4 at the plate with 4 RBIs, as well as earning his first home run in high school. Cal Omohundro also had a good day, pitching an inning, giving up 2 unearned runs, on one hit, one walk, and one K, as well as going 1-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs.
The Broncos will have their final regular season home game and Senior Night Tuesday against Cal-City, so wish them luck, and come out to send our Seniors off the right way!
