Broncos Hit Speed Bump on the Road to Their Ring
May 2, 2018
Rosamond Snaps Bishop’s Four Game Win Streak
The Bronco boys were looking to defend their home turf against the rival Roadrunners in Tuesday’s game, but instead went home with a bad taste in their mouths after a 14-3 loss. After a rain delay, the Broncos looked to get things going behind their starter, Justin Yates, but quickly fell behind 2-0 in the first inning. There was no scoring until the bottom of the second when the Broncos were able to bring home a run, but Rosamond quickly answered with 2 runs of their own in the top of the third. The roadrunners then scored 2 more in the top of the fourth, while the Broncos answered with one of their own. Rosamond’s big inning came in the top of the sixth, putting up 5 runs and then holding the Broncos scoreless in the bottom of the inning. After giving up 3 more runs in the bottom of the seventh, the Broncos were looking for a big rally in the final inning of play, but were only able to bring home 1 more run.
Justin Yates had the start in the loss, going 3 2/3 innings, giving up 6 runs, one walk, and earning 2 Ks. Jalen Watterson, Cal Omohundro, and Justin Yates were the only guys to drive in runs, going 2-2 with 1 RBI, 2-3 with 1 RBI, and 2-3 with 1 RBI respectively.
The Broncos will look to pick up the pieces and get back on track tomorrow when they take on the Desert Scorpions here at home, so wish them luck and come out to show your support!
