Broncos Blowout Kern Valley for the Second Time this Season
April 30, 2018
Broncos Show No Signs of Slowing Down Late in the Season
The Broncos extended their win streak to four games on Friday when they went down to Kern Valley to take on the Broncs. The Broncos, as usual, scored a run in the first, but uncharacteristically gave up three runs in the bottom half. The Broncos quickly got back on track though, and scored 12 runs in the top of the second, beginning with a 2 out base hit by Hunter Beall, and ending with a 3 run shot by Michael Kubiak. The Broncs got one back in the bottom half, but the Broncos scored two more runs in the top of the third before holding the Broncs scoreless in the bottom of the inning. The Broncos scored three runs in the fourth and held the Broncs scoreless in the bottom of the inning, before scoring four in the fifth and giving up one in the last half of the inning.
Cal Omohundro got the start in the 22-5 win, going 2 innings, giving up 3 hits, 4 runs (only 1 earned), 3 walks, and 5 Ks, but got a no decision. Michael Kubiak was the offensive MVP of the game for the Broncos, going 3-4 with 2 doubles, a 3 run home run, and 6 RBIs, as well as closing out the game going 1 inning, giving up 2 hits and one run. Other notables were Junior Matthew Rosga who threw, going 2 innings, giving up 2 hits, and earning 1 K, while going 1-3 with a 3 run triple at the plate, Senior Lorenzo Parra who went 2-4 with a 2 run home run, and Senior Mike Molina who went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBIs.
The Broncos will take on their rivals, the Rosamond Roadrunners tomorrow at home, so come out to support them, and wish them luck!
