Broncos vs Huskies

For the first game of the year the Bishop Broncos played the Mammoth Huskies in Bishop. As both teams were going in at 0-0 and looking for their first win it was all about who had more grit and wanted it more. The Huskies went down easy in a 1, 2, 3 first inning and Bishop looked to come out hot loading the bases in the bottom half of the inning, but a lack of hitting lead to the bases being left loaded. Going into the bottom half of the 3rd inning the score still all knotted up at 0-0 the Broncos once again loaded the bases but this time got hits in full stride as Senior catcher Brodie Maloney hit a two run ground-rule double over the center field wall. The Broncos walked out of the 3rd with a total of 6 runs making the score 6-0. The Broncos won the game 9-2 as pitching from Justin Yates and Austin Thomas kept the Huskies off the board for most of the game.

MVP of the Game: Brodie Maloney 1-1 with two R.B.I.s and walked 3 times while scoring twice

Pitcher of the Game: Justin Yates 5 2/3rds innings with 7 strikeouts on 3 hits and no earned runs.
