Varsity Boys Set For Outstanding Season
Now that we nearing the end of winter, that means that the best season of the year is almost here, baseball season. With that special time of year fast approaching, let’s take a look at how the Broncos will matchup this season against their competition. The boys finished second to Rosamond last season with a record of 7-3 in league and 13-11 overall with one playoff appearance. This year, the team looks like they are set to go the distance with a solid team and coaching staff. Seniors Brodie Maloney, Justin Yates, Lorenzo Parra, Mike Molina and Lukas Diangelo will all be vital components to the team’s success in the season. The Broncos have a phenomenal infield with Yates and at third, Michael Kubiak at shortstop, Diangelo and Matthew Rosga at second, Parra and Jalen Watterson at first, and Maloney behind the plate.
The Broncos rotation looks just as solid, with Yates being the team’s ace, and Austin Thomas, Rosga, Watterson and Hunter Beal also filling the rotation. The staff will also have support from their bullpen which includes Maloney, Diangelo and Kubiak.
The Bronco outfield will also sport some of the team’s strongest arms, with Thomas, Watterson, and Molina.
While the Broncos’ defense definitely knows how to flash the leather, the boys can also make plenty of noise with their bats. With heavy hitters like Maloney, Molina, Watterson, and Parra that demolish the baseball, and guys that always seem to come up clutch with extra base hits and RBIs like Kubiak, Diangelo, and Yates, the team will give anyone they come up against a run for their money.
The Broncos will scrimmage the Mammoth Huskies in their first game before heading into the Yerington Tournament, so come out and support the boys as they start their season!
