Coalinga vs Bishop: Boys Varsity Soccer Review

On Tuesday, February 13th, at 5:00, the Bishop Broncos took on the Coalinga Horned Toads away from home for their first CIF match after defeating Frazier Mountain 5-0 to seal their HDL Championship.

The halftime score of this match was 2-1 in favor of the Horned Toads. The final score was 5-2 with Coalinga advancing to the quarter finals of the Division 5 playoffs.

Coalinga faced Riverdale in the quarter final in a match that saw them lose 7-0 to the host. Riverdale faces Mendota in the semi finals along with Chavez and Garces Memorial also playing. These games are scheduled to take place on February 20th.

Throughout the entire season, the broncos managed to score a total of 89 goals, while receiving 32 goals. In HDL play they scored 62 goals and only allowed 4 goals.  Their season record of their games played was 11-6-3.

Overall, the Broncos would have wanted to go farther in the playoffs, but they did have a thrilling undefeated run in the High Desert League (HDL), making them The HDL Champions of the 2017-2018 season.
