Corie Campbell

Hana Hogan

Corie is in her Senior year of high school and is preparing to move onto amazing things in her life. I interviewed Corie Campbell to find out what she plans on doing after high school and how she feels about graduation.

Q: Do you plan on going to college? If so, where?
A: “I am planning on going to college. My main choice California State Long Beach, however, I am planning on going to whichever college will be cheapest. I have applied to University of Nevada, Reno, University of California Riverside, California State Long Beach, California State San Marcos, and California State Northridge.”

Q: If you are leaving Bishop, what will you miss?
A: ”I am definitely planning on leaving Bishop, though I will miss my family and the friendly people. Because I am moving to a city somewhere, I am going to miss the little traffic, the beautiful mountains and scenery, as well as being able to see stars late on summer nights.”

Q: What are you most excited for after graduation?
A: “I am most excited about starting a new chapter in life. Getting to meet new faces and see new places. I’m more excited to begin a new adventure, and to get out of high school.”

Q: What is your biggest fear after graduation?
A: “My biggest fear is failing. Whether failing in college, by dropping out or taking longer than expected. I also fear adulting. That’s going to be a pain. I will be having to do everything by myself, like no help financially from parents, so I fear about being overwhelmed. With full-time school and full-time work.”

Q: Since you are going to college, do you feel prepared?
A: “I feel like no one is prepared for anything. Like yes, I feel prepared enough about knowing how to take notes, studying for tests, and all that school stuff. However, I don’t know if I am prepared for college lifestyle.”

Q: What job/career do you want to pursue? And why?
A: “I would like to be a civil rights lawyer. I have had this career in mind since middle school, and it is because of family stuff that has happened in the past. I thought about how unfair the case became and I would like to make the future a little more fair for other people. I also hope I can help those who need someone who believes in their civil rights. With everything happening with refugees and immigrants, I hope I can make a better impact for those people.”
