Roadrunners vs Broncos

On Thursday, January 25th, the two top teams in the High Desert League (HDL) went head to head in a fierce match with the title potentially on the line in Rosamond, California at 5:00pm.

Heading into the match, the Broncos had an impeccable six game winning streak in as many league matches. The Roadrunners had also won all of their HDL matches except for their match against the Broncos earlier in the season.

Their last game together was the opening game of the season in which the Broncos outclassed the Roadrunners in a massive 5-1 victory. Since that match, both teams have only had victories.

Their rivalry goes back to last season in which they were co-champions of the HDL since both teams won at home.

The half time score of this big match in Rosamond was 0-0, as the stalemate had yet to be broken by the break. The final score of the game was a shocking 1-1 draw after many close opportunities for either side to take the victory.

The Lady Broncos managed to get a narrow 2-1 win over the Lady Roadrunners earlier that evening.

Next up for the Bishop Broncos is a home match against school rivals, the Mammoth Huskies on Saturday, January 27th, at 3:00pm, however this will not be an HDL match.
